How to become an assistant to a wedding planner?
I have been really thinking about wedding planning and I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to become an assistant to a wedding planner or get a job with a company so that I can work my way up to becoming a wedding planner?
I have photography experience, waitressing experience, personal assistance experience….great organizational skills….

That’s what I am! Try hotels and all-inclusive wedding venues. Usually they need help, especially in the busy seasons. Good Luck!

Most wedding planners are socially well-connected female entrepreneurs. If you don’t have good social connections, the other important skills are design, floral display, catering, and bartending. Get a job at a florist. Get a waitress job. Etc.

I too have thought about doing this one the side. My moms friend is a wedding planner and will be contacting me to help her, for now I am just in it for the experience… so maybe you can do something like that.
