ask him if you can spend the day with him and the kids. if he is hesitant or says no, dont worry. it’s just another day. my boyfriend has 2 kids too, and i wouldnt mind if he had to watch the kids, he would make it up to me somehow

It is just one day. Do you really need to have him validate you on valentines day to show you he cares? I’m sure there will be days when he is with them that you don’t like. Your birthday, Christmas, etc. You must accept it if you want to see him. He has kids. They are priority over you.

How come you can’t be included?
Be proud of your boyfriend, that he is willing to be there for his children. They need him to show his love and support for them, on holidays, especially.
Plan something for yourself that is fun on Valentines Day, maybe pamper yourself a bit. Then start planning a special dinner for the two of you, when he gets back.
But – take this as a heads up. When you date a parent, you get the whole package – yep, that includes the children. If you cannot share your boyfriend with his children without feeling hurt, this may not be the relationship for you.

You are going to have to get used to it. You are not going to be #1 in his life all of the time. When there are kids involved they have to come first. On the bright side it sounds like your bf is a good dad. Too many dads just forget the kids after a divorce. Why don’t you celebrate the holiday on a different day? My husband is in the Army so he goes away a bunch, including this valentines day, so we are having valentines day this Saturday.

Sooooo. . .what’s your question?

That’s what happens when you date someone with kids. If your bf isn’t interested in including you on v.d. (most guys could care less about v.d.) with his kids, go see your parents, do something with your friends. I can’t tell you not to feel hurt, but the reality is that kids should be a priority.
