If this alone ruins your marriage, it was on very shaky ground to begin with! What you did was stupid. There’s no really nice way to put that, but, with that being said, which of us hasn’t done some stupid things in our lives or marriages? You withheld money, but the purpose of withholding it may be more important to him than the withholding. Did you do it because you were saving up “in case” things didn’t work out, or to do things behind his back etc… A good apology, followed by meaningful conversation about any insecurities you may have, should solve this pretty quickly. If not, it’s safe to say he probably has issues as well.

You have to be willing to do the work to rebuild trust in your marriage. Seek marriage counseling, read Relationship Rescue, by Phil McGraw also.
