Unless she’s going through some dark times (if that were the case just say what you said- that it helped you) it’s probably best to separate romance from depressed circumstances. If you’re just wanting to do do something romantic there are lots of things you could do- if you want to do something related to horticulture, focus on life rather than death: plant flowers with her so you can both see something grow through the efforts of your care and attention.
