If marriage counseling didnt help, why do people keep saying to get counseling for marriage problems?
I just asked a question about my marriage problems and I said that we tried marriage counseling and it did NOT work. But people keep nagging saying you need counseling! Why can’t people freakin listen?!

There’s more to marriage counseling then just going to office, hashing out your differences, and then leaving the office. I feel certain the counselor talks with you about how to use “tools” provided to work at certain issues together. Probably the part you don’t get is, it takes the both of you to want the same thing. So, if you both apply what you learn in counseling, then marriage counseling could work. Counseling doesn’t work by itself. The mechanics have to be applied by both participants of the relationship.
