It almost always helps. Most of all it improves communication between the two.
It often helps two people who let minor arguments turn into big problems. Sometimes there’s a really simple solution and improving communication is all it takes to fix things.
It really does depend on the people and what their goals are. Sometimes the husband and wife have drifted too far apart and just don’t want to be together anymore. In that case, the counseling will help them realize that the marriage truly is over and it’s time to get divorced.

We are still together and trying to work it out on our own with the tools that the counselor gave us, but honestly both have to be willing to put in the work and time it takes.
