How is it considered cheating if you are not married to somebody?

Cheating means a Spouse cheating.I don’t have one and therefore how could I be cheating?

i agree with faller 217 and you do call it cheating when a spouse cheats on you. at any rate, you boyfriend or girlfriend is someone special to you that you should treat with love and loyalty. not cheat on them. i respect my GF as much as i would respect my wife(BTW it will be her). its just that if you plan on cheating on them, why would you even be with them if “NOTHING IS HOLDING YOU TIED TO THEM” like you say. marriage is an action taken to make it official and public. but a relationship is exactly the same, just not to the extreme. don’t expect anybody to take you seriously past a relationship if you are cheating . nobody wants an un-loyal partner.

Cheating is really another name for dishonesty. There is such a thing as an “open relationship,” and if both partners agree they can see whomever they want, there’s nothing wrong with that. But it is cheating when the relationship is assumed to be monogamous, and a person goes outside the relationship without the other’s knowledge. Think about school…. there’s nothing wrong with sharing answers when you’re working on a group project, but it’s called “cheating” when you’re supposed to be working solo.
